Biologicals, Without the Guesswork

We run a short, proven portfolio of biologicals and apply them fresh at planting with POP ST. You get a simpler decision, cleaner execution, and a program you can trust.

Our Approach to Biologicals

Biologicals can deliver real value in vegetable production, but only when they are chosen carefully and applied correctly. Many products fail in the field because they are treated like generic inputs or applied in ways that don’t keep the biology alive long enough to do its job.

At Seed Edge Ag, we take a different approach. We work with a small, curated portfolio of biological products that have shown consistent performance potential in high value vegetable systems. Rather than asking growers to sort through dozens of options, we focus on a short list of biologicals that fit our delivery system, planting window realities, and crop environments in places like the Salinas Valley and Yuma.

Each product in our portfolio is selected for three reasons:

It addresses a real agronomic need at planting, it works within tight planting windows, and it can be delivered fresh and precisely through our on-planter POP-ST system. This approach removes guesswork and reduces risk, especially for growers who are newer to biologicals.

A Curated Portfolio, Not a Catalog

We do not try to be everything to everyone. Our philosophy is simple: fewer products, chosen well, applied correctly.

Biologicals are living or biologically active inputs. That means survivability, timing, and placement matter. Products that look good on paper can underperform if they are stressed, stored too long, or applied too early before planting. By curating a limited set of biologicals and pairing them with on-planter delivery, we help ensure those products reach the seed and soil when they are most effective.

This portfolio approach also allows us to support growers better in season. When everyone is running the same proven tools, we can focus on execution, uptime, and learning rather than troubleshooting dozens of variables.

The Biologicals in Our Program

DPH Companion Maxx (Douglas Plant Health)

Companion Maxx is a Bacillus-based biological fungicide designed to protect seedlings during their most vulnerable early growth stages. It works by colonizing the root zone and creating a competitive environment that helps suppress soil-borne pathogens before they can gain a foothold.

For vegetable crops planted into challenging soils or under stress-prone conditions, early protection matters. Companion Maxx is used in our programs to support healthier stand establishment and reduce early-season pressure, without adding complexity to the planting operation.

Vitazyme

Vitazyme is a natural biostimulant that supports soil microbial activity and early plant vigor. Rather than acting as a fertilizer or pesticide, it works by stimulating natural biological processes in the soil and plant, encouraging stronger root growth and more uniform early development.

We include Vitazyme in situations where early vigor and uniformity are critical. By applying it on-planter, we ensure it is delivered right at planting, when roots are emerging and responsiveness is highest.

Seedworx BioMA

BioMA is a two-strain Bacillus biological developed by Aginnovation and designed to support early root development and nutrient uptake. Strong root systems help plants access water and nutrients more efficiently, setting the foundation for consistent growth later in the season.

BioMA is selected for its compatibility with precision, low-volume on-planter application and its ability to perform in real field conditions, not just controlled environments. It fits well into programs where early-season resilience and uniformity are priorities.

Seedworx BioSA

BioSA is a related two-strain Bacillus biological optimized for broadleaf and vegetable crops. Like BioMA, its role is to support root health and nutrient efficiency during early establishment.

In vegetable systems where small differences in early growth can impact uniformity and pack-out, BioSA helps create a stronger, more balanced start across the field. Its formulation and stability make it well suited for delivery through our POP-ST platform at planting.

Seedworx BioTCP

BioTCP is a three-strain Bacillus blend designed to provide broader biological support in the seed and root environment. By combining complementary strains, BioTCP promotes robust root development and supports nutrient uptake during early growth.

This product is used in programs where crops may face early stress or variable soil conditions. Applied at planting, BioTCP helps seedlings get established quickly and consistently, which is especially important in high value vegetable production.
